The company posted record Q2 2026 results with revenue of 79.3 trillion won and operating profit of 60.5 trillion won, both up sharply year-over-year, yet missed consensus estimates due to HBM4 shipment timing, triggering a post-earnings selloff that left shares near $166 by mid-August. Traders are weighing sustained AI-driven memory demand and capacity expansion plans against valuation compression, delayed product ramps, and broader semiconductor sector volatility. The week of August 17 could be influenced by follow-through tech sentiment, any fresh analyst revisions, or macroeconomic data releases affecting risk appetite in high-growth chip names.
