The 2026-27 Serie A campaign opened with widespread uncertainty across the lower half of the table, as three newly promoted sides—Venezia, Frosinone, and Monza—joined established strugglers such as Lecce, Genoa, Cagliari, Parma, Torino, Sassuolo, and Bologna in a congested fight for survival. Pre-season models and early match results have highlighted defensive vulnerabilities and limited attacking depth among the promoted clubs, while several mid-table teams have started with winless runs that keep them within striking distance of the drop zone. With only a handful of fixtures completed, form swings, fixture congestion, and squad depth will likely determine which side lands precisely on 17th, producing the tight clustering of implied probabilities seen in the market.
