Recent polling trends position the CDU for roughly 21-22 seats in the 83-seat Landtag. Multiple late-August and early-September surveys from Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, Infratest dimap, and INSA show the party at 22-23% support, down sharply from its 37% result in 2021, while the AfD holds steady near 41-43%. These vote shares translate directly into the 20-22 seat band once smaller parties near or below the 5% threshold are accounted for. The election on 6 September leaves little time for further movement, and traders have aligned with these consistent projections rather than earlier expectations of a stronger CDU performance.
