Major breaking news events have kept multiple weekdays in tight contention for ABC World News Tonight's highest viewership this week. The deadly 7.4-magnitude earthquake in Colombia on Monday triggered urgent rescue coverage and elevated audience interest in international disaster reporting, while severe Midwest storms, a US-Iran naval standoff, a Turkish helicopter incident, and an aborted United jet takeoff sustained strong engagement through midweek. Sunday's slight edge reflects typical weekend momentum from lingering geopolitical stories and pre-week analysis, whereas Saturday trails sharply due to lighter news cycles and lower habitual viewing. With no single dominant story yet locking in ratings, traders weigh upcoming final episodes and any late-breaking developments as potential tiebreakers.
