Recent polls for the September 20, 2026, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election show the AfD leading with 35–36 percent, followed by the incumbent SPD at 28–29 percent, the Left at 11–12 percent, and the CDU at 9–10 percent, with smaller parties below the 5 percent threshold. This consistent ordering, stable over multiple surveys from Infratest dimap and INSA since early 2026, positions the SPD as the clear frontrunner for second place while rendering other outcomes improbable. The SPD has narrowed the gap slightly in recent weeks through modest gains, yet the AfD’s sustained lead keeps the second-place outcome anchored. Trader consensus reflects these polling trends and the short remaining campaign window, with limited scope for late shifts absent major events.
