The La Prairie riding enters the October 5 Quebec provincial election without an incumbent after Christian Dubé stepped aside, leaving an open contest among new candidates from the Coalition Avenir Québec (Pierre Guillot-Hurtubise), Parti Québécois (Frédéric Côté), Liberals (Sonia Ziadé), Conservatives, and Québec solidaire (Francine van Winden). The race remains tightly priced because the campaign opened only days ago amid a provincial deadlock between the PQ and CAQ, with shifting voter priorities around U.S. trade tensions and no riding-specific polls yet available to clarify local dynamics. Early projections favor the CAQ based on 2022 results, but the broad field and recent provincial volatility keep multiple outcomes viable until candidate visibility and momentum develop over the coming weeks.
