National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus for Denver on August 31 point to a mostly cloudy day with a high near 85°F and 50-60% chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, creating the tight clustering of market-implied odds between the 82-83°F and 84-85°F bins. Diurnal surface heating under moderate southwesterly flow supports peak temperatures in that range, yet afternoon convection could reduce insolation and cap the maximum if storms develop early or cover a wide area. Key differentiating variables include the precise timing of instability release, cloud-cover evolution, and any outflow boundaries that alter local mixing; updated NWS briefings and short-range model runs over the next 24 hours will likely refine these thresholds ahead of market resolution.
