Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs hold nearly equal market-implied odds near 50% for the lead-left underwriter role on Anthropic’s planned October 2026 IPO, reflecting the tight contest between the two banks selected as co-leads in June alongside JPMorgan. Both firms bring deep technology-sector expertise, strong institutional distribution networks, and recent success on mega-deals, with the outcome likely hinging on which secures greater favor with Anthropic’s management and major investors during ongoing roadshow meetings. The company’s confidential S-1 filing, surging revenue trajectory, and potential $2 trillion valuation add prestige to the mandate, while overlapping involvement in OpenAI’s offering heightens internal allocation pressures for the banks. Trader consensus prices in this uncertainty ahead of final bookrunner rankings.

If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or Anthropic completes an initial public offering without a designated lead underwriter, this market will resolve to “Other.”
If multiple banks are identified as lead underwriters, this market will resolve according to the primary lead underwriter. If the hierarchy between them is unclear, this market will resolve once it is conclusively evident which bank is the primary lead underwriter, for example, through the order in which the banks are listed in the underwriting section of Anthropic’s final initial public offering prospectus, once released.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official disclosures from Anthropic. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
