Israeli forces remain positioned in parts of southern Lebanon north of the Litani River following 2026 ground operations and the breakdown of earlier ceasefires. US-brokered framework agreements in June conditioned any phased Israeli pullback on Hezbollah's full withdrawal and disarmament south of the river, followed by Lebanese Armed Forces deployment in designated pilot zones. Hezbollah rejected those terms as one-sided, while Israel has linked withdrawals to verified Lebanese security control and has conducted limited handovers in select areas such as Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh. Ongoing Rome talks, continued cross-border strikes, and the December 2026 end of the UNIFIL mandate shape expectations around timelines and compliance. Trader assessments reflect uncertainty over whether sequenced implementation or persistent security conditions will determine the pace of any broader redeployment.

For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
