**Northeasterly flow and associated cooler maritime air mass are positioning the highest temperature in New York City on September 6 near the mid-70s Fahrenheit.** Official guidance and ensemble forecasts from sources like the National Weather Service and GFS runs consistently indicate daytime maxima in the 74–76°F range under mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions, with light northeast winds limiting afternoon mixing and peak heating. This places the outcome well below the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 79.5°F. Recent model consensus has remained stable over the past 24–48 hours, with only minor spread in boundary-layer details and cloud cover that keeps 76–77°F as the modal bin in trader pricing while assigning meaningful probability to the adjacent 74–75°F range. Updated National Weather Service briefings and any late adjustments to dew-point or insolation forecasts represent the key near-term catalysts for further market movement before resolution.
