SpaceX's completed June 2026 IPO at a $1.75–2 trillion-plus valuation, fueled by Starlink's recurring revenue, reusable launch operations, and the xAI integration that added AI compute capabilities, underpins the 93.8% market-implied odds favoring its higher IPO market cap. OpenAI remains private following its March 2026 $852 billion funding round and has shifted toward a potential 2027 debut amid high cash burn and profitability timelines stretching into the late 2020s. Traders view SpaceX's proven scale and diversified revenue as durable advantages over OpenAI's large language model growth trajectory. A surprise acceleration in OpenAI's timeline combined with favorable public-market multiples for AI could narrow the gap, though current filings and reporting show limited realistic pathways for reversal.
