**SPD holds a strong lead in trader expectations for second place in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s September 20, 2026 Landtag election.** Recent Infratest dimap and INSA surveys place the party at 28–29 percent, consistently behind AfD (35–36 percent) but ahead of Die Linke (11–12 percent) and CDU (9–10 percent), with Grüne, BSW, and others trailing further. SPD’s modest recent gains have narrowed AfD’s lead without altering the order, while CDU support has slipped. Traders assign SPD an 84 percent implied probability for second place, reflecting stable polling trends through early August and the absence of major campaign shifts that would reorder the parties. Lower probabilities for AfD, CDU, Linke, and Grüne align with their current third- or lower-place positioning and limited movement in the final weeks before the vote.
