AfD maintains a clear lead in recent polling for the September 20 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election, with averages around 36 percent compared to the SPD’s 29–30 percent, positioning it as the strongest party in the state parliament. The gap has narrowed modestly in the final weeks as SPD support rose in surveys from Infratest dimap and Forsa, reflecting incumbent Minister President Manuela Schwesig’s personal popularity and the party’s mobilization efforts. Other parties, including the Left, CDU, Greens, and BSW, trail significantly and show limited movement. Trader consensus on AfD as election winner reflects these consistent vote-share trends and the low likelihood of any challenger overtaking it before election day, though coalition formation remains separate from determining the largest parliamentary group.
