Recent National Weather Service guidance highlights an approaching upper-level low and surface cold front crossing the region Wednesday, September 9, which is expected to increase cloud cover, trigger showers or thunderstorms, and shift winds to promote cooler overnight conditions. This setup favors a daily low near or below 67°F, consistent with the 49% market-implied probability and aligning closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average of 61.5°F for the date. Recent days have featured above-normal warmth with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s, but the frontal passage and associated moisture should enhance radiative cooling after sunset. Model consensus points to minimal overnight recovery under partly to mostly cloudy skies, though any delays in frontal timing or stronger southerly flow could support slightly milder readings in the 68–75°F range reflected in secondary market bins. Updated NWS short-range forecasts and 00Z model runs will provide the next key data points ahead of resolution.
