This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 5 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the seventh day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. This market will resolve once data for this date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the seventh day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Trader consensus has converged on 32°C as the highest temperature recorded in Hong Kong on September 5, 2026, reflecting verified observational data from the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) and regional stations.** Official readings showed daytime maxima reaching 31–32°C at key locations such as the Observatory and Sha Tin, with brief peaks near 31.3°C early in the afternoon before declining amid increasing cloud cover and scattered showers. This outcome aligns with typical early-September climatology for the region, where mean daily maxima hover around 30–31°C under weak monsoon influences and moderate humidity levels of 70–90%. No anomalous heat wave or clear-sky intensification occurred to push readings higher, and forecast models had consistently projected a similar range without significant upward revisions in the final 48 hours. The near-certain market pricing underscores the reliability of HKO surface observations for market resolution, which prioritize standardized thermometer readings at designated sites. Realistic challenges to this positioning remain limited but include potential post-event data corrections from the HKO, use of an alternative station network for the official daily maximum, or resolution criteria tied to a specific geographic or temporal threshold not fully captured in preliminary reports. Updated daily extracts or climate summaries released in the coming days would be the key trigger for any adjustment.
