This market will resolve to "Yes" if there is a confirmed case of Ebola in the territory of the specified country reported between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Any active laboratory-confirmed, or otherwise officially confirmed, Ebola infection identified within the territory of the specified country will qualify, regardless of where exposure, symptom onset, or testing occurred. The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the relevant national and international health authorities; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting will also suffice.Ongoing transmission of Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since the May 2026 outbreak declaration has established clear frontrunner status for reported cases there, with over 3,900 confirmed infections and the WHO's public health emergency designation amplifying momentum. Uganda recorded 20 cases before declaring the outbreak over in late July, while imported instances treated in France and Germany highlight how medical evacuations can expand the field. Traders monitor cross-border movement, healthcare worker infections, and any new precursor signals like cluster reports in neighboring regions, as historical patterns show limited but unpredictable spread beyond Central Africa. The campaign against further cases depends on containment efforts through year-end.
