Paulo Costa leads the implied probabilities for Carlos Ulberg’s next light heavyweight matchup due to the Brazilian’s recent activity, vocal callouts for an interim title bout, and positioning as a high-risk, high-reward option in Ulberg’s own proposed 2027 eliminator framework following Ankalaev’s fifth-round stoppage of Bogdan Guskov at UFC Abu Dhabi. Jan Blachowicz sits close behind as a veteran former champion with prior history against Ulberg and consistent ranking relevance in a shallow division. Magomed Ankalaev’s recent rebound win keeps him prominent as the top active contender, though his performance drew mixed reviews. Guskov trails after the loss. Ulberg’s ACL recovery rules out any defense before early 2027, leaving the market shaped by these contenders’ momentum and the absence of official bookings.
