Democratic incumbent Laura Gillen holds a strong position in New York’s 4th congressional district ahead of the November 3, 2026 general election, with prediction markets reflecting an 83% implied probability for the Democratic Party. Gillen flipped the Long Island suburban seat from Republican control in 2024 by roughly 8,600 votes and has benefited from incumbency advantages and a district partisan voting index of D+2. The June 2026 primaries confirmed her nomination without significant opposition while Republican Jeanine Driscoll secured her party’s nod, yet forecasters such as the Cook Political Report rate the race Lean Democratic. Limited shifts in polling or campaign developments since the primaries have kept trader consensus aligned with the modest structural edge for the incumbent party.
