Rising component costs for memory and storage, driven by surging AI data center demand, represent the core factor shaping trader views on iPhone 18 Pro pricing ahead of the expected September launch. Apple CEO Tim Cook has stated that price increases are unavoidable after DRAM and NAND prices climbed sharply, with analysts from TechInsights and The Wall Street Journal estimating a starting price of $1,299–$1,399 or higher to preserve margins, up from the $1,099 iPhone 17 Pro. More recent forecasts from J.P. Morgan and Bloomberg suggest a more modest $50–$200 hike, as Apple may offset some expenses through its own modems while matching competitors' measured increases. The September 9 event will confirm exact pricing and resolve market uncertainty.
