Current National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 12 points to a mostly sunny day with a 40-50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, supporting highs near 91-92°F under light southerly flow. This aligns with the market's leading 92-93°F bin, as sea-breeze convergence and modest instability typically allow temperatures to peak in the low 90s before convection develops. Historical climatology shows a normal high of about 90°F for the date, but persistent above-average warmth this September has kept recent days in the low-to-mid 90s. Key variables include exact thunderstorm timing and coverage, which could shave a degree or two if clouds build earlier, versus clearer conditions pushing toward 93°F. Updated model runs and NHC/NOAA briefings over the next 48 hours will refine the expected maximum before resolution.
