**Recent opinion polls for the September 6, 2026 Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election show the SPD consistently polling ahead of the BSW by 1–3 percentage points, with the SPD at 6–7% and the BSW at 4–5%.** Multiple surveys from INSA, Infratest dimap, and pollytix in July and August 2026 confirm this gap, reflecting the SPD’s established state-level presence and voter base versus the BSW’s newer organization and internal leadership tensions, including dual lead candidates. The BSW’s federal founder has emphasized an opposition role rather than immediate coalition participation, while the SPD focuses on maintaining its parliamentary standing amid broader competition from larger parties like the AfD and CDU. These stable polling differentials underpin trader consensus favoring the SPD on the head-to-head vote margin.
