Canada’s monthly GDP by industry posted a preliminary advance estimate of essentially flat growth in July 2026, following a revised 0.3% increase in June, positioning the 0.0–0.1% outcome as the clear market leader at 56.5% implied probability. Offsetting gains in real estate, rental and leasing, and professional services were declines in retail trade and manufacturing, consistent with July merchandise trade data showing exports falling 2.3% while imports rose 2.2%, narrowing the surplus. Second-quarter GDP expanded 0.8% annualized, but the advance July reading signals a softer start to the third quarter ahead of the official Statistics Canada release on September 29.
