The 2026-27 Primeira Liga runner-up market reflects a wide-open race among Portugal’s Big Three and several challengers, driven by closely matched squad strengths and recent managerial shifts. Defending champions Porto, Sporting CP, and Benfica enter with comparable depth after rotating titles in prior campaigns, while early results show Porto claiming an opening win and the others drawing. Mid-table sides such as Braga, Famalicão, and Vitória de Guimarães have posted consistent European pushes and strong recent form, keeping their implied probabilities competitive. Squad overhauls, including Benfica’s appointment of Marco Silva, and the absence of a clear favorite create tight clustering, as traders price in the league’s history of late swings and multiple teams capable of securing second place.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Primeira Liga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Primeira Liga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Primeira Liga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
