New Hampshire's open U.S. Senate race features a closely contested matchup between Democratic Representative Chris Pappas and Republican John E. Sununu, with recent polls showing margins within single digits or statistical ties that typically mobilize higher voter participation. As a midterm election on November 3, 2026, following Jeanne Shaheen's retirement, turnout will hinge on primary outcomes September 8, candidate ground efforts, national political environment, and battleground-state mobilization in a state with variable historical participation rates around 500,000–700,000 ballots in similar cycles. The flat distribution across turnout ranges reflects trader uncertainty over these variables, including potential impacts from early voting, absentee ballots, and weather, while the race's competitiveness sustains expectations for solid engagement without clear signals favoring any specific bin.
