Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance place the day's high temperature for New York City in the upper 70s to low 80s, aligning with the market's leading outcomes of 78-79°F and adjacent bins. A frontal system delivering morning thunderstorms and heavy rain, followed by mostly cloudy afternoon conditions, is limiting daytime heating under northeast to northwest winds. This setup keeps readings near or slightly above the 1991-2020 climatological average high of 77.5°F while suppressing potential for stronger late-summer warmth. Updated model runs through midday show limited upside risk above 81°F given persistent cloud cover and precipitation, supporting the current trader consensus around the 76-81°F range.
