Latest National Weather Service and model guidance point to San Francisco overnight lows in the low-to-mid 60s on September 8, supported by strengthening high pressure, lighter winds, and a reduced marine layer that limits fog and allows greater radiative cooling. These conditions sit above the early-September climatological average low near 56°F yet remain well below the 68°F threshold that holds the highest market-implied probability. Trader interest in both the warm tail (68°F+) and cold tail (49°F or below) reflects lingering model spread on cloud cover and wind, plus San Francisco’s sharp microclimate gradients between the coast and downtown. Updated model runs and evening observations through September 7 will clarify whether the marine influence strengthens or offshore flow persists, directly affecting the final low.
