Apple’s first foldable iPhone, widely expected to be unveiled September 9 at the “Surprise and Shine” event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models, remains the dominant catalyst for price expectations. Supply-chain reports confirm limited production of a few hundred units per day in late August, with a book-style design featuring a roughly 7.6–7.8-inch inner OLED display, a smaller cover screen, titanium hinge, and Touch ID in the power button. Consistent analyst and leaker estimates place the starting price in the $2,000–$2,500 range—well above current flagships—driven by premium components from Samsung Display and complex manufacturing. Software updates in iOS 27 already preview dynamic resizing for the new form factor, while any last-minute delays or naming shifts (such as “iPhone Ultra”) could still influence the final announced figure before the event.
