Gold prices have stabilized near $4,380 per ounce following the Federal Reserve’s September 16 rate hike to the 3.75–4.00% target range and signals of additional tightening ahead, with markets pricing roughly a 50–57% chance of a further 25-basis-point increase in October. The move initially pressured bullion but was offset by declining oil prices that eased near-term inflation concerns, a pullback in Treasury yields, and short covering. Geopolitical risks in the Middle East and the Bank of Japan’s latest tightening remain secondary influences. Traders will monitor upcoming U.S. economic data releases, any follow-up Fed commentary, and oil market developments for shifts in real-rate expectations and risk appetite during the week of September 21.
