Recent polls from Alaska Survey Research show Democrat Mary Peltola holding a narrow lead over Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan in a toss-up race, keeping trader consensus nearly even as the August 18 top-four primary approaches. Peltola's strong name recognition from prior House wins, appeal under ranked-choice voting, and Democratic fundraising support offset Alaska's Republican lean and Sullivan's incumbency advantages on federal policy and energy issues. The presence of a same-named minor candidate has introduced limited ballot confusion without shifting the core matchup. Upcoming primary results, further polling on voter turnout, or late developments in national party messaging could create separation ahead of the November general election.
