**Édouard Philippe leads centrist polling for the 2027 French presidential election, reflected in trader pricing favoring him over Gabriel Attal.** Recent Ipsos/BVA surveys from early September show Philippe positioned as the stronger contender from the center bloc to advance past the first round in most scenarios, while Attal trails when both compete. Philippe, who declared his Horizons candidacy earlier, benefits from steadier support among center-right and moderate voters, with polls giving him 14–19% in unified centrist tests versus Attal’s lower single-digit or low-teen shares. Attal, who launched his Renaissance bid in May 2026 and has conducted an intensive summer campaign including a recent team rollout, has narrowed some gaps but remains behind in head-to-head centrist matchups. Divisions within the broader center risk splitting votes and aiding frontrunners like Marine Le Pen, with both candidates signaling openness to a potential early-2027 adjustment if extremes threaten a runoff.
