Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to mostly sunny conditions across Los Angeles on September 9, with highs expected in the upper 80s to low 90s under light onshore flow. The primary moderating influence remains the marine layer and afternoon sea breeze, which typically caps coastal and near-coastal peaks below inland values. Minor differences in model timing of the sea breeze or subtle warming aloft create the narrow spread between 88–89°F and 90–91°F outcomes that dominate trader positioning. Historical September climatology at Los Angeles International Airport shows average highs near 76°F, so current guidance reflects above-normal warmth but not extreme heat. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will refine the exact maximum before market resolution.
