Recent polling shows the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead near 29 percent ahead of the October 5 election, while the Parti libéral du Québec, Coalition Avenir Québec, and Parti conservateur du Québec remain tightly clustered behind in the low-to-mid 20s or high teens. This fragmentation sustains elevated implied probabilities for third place among the PLQ, CAQ, and PCQ, as small shifts in regional support or turnout can reorder their finish. The CAQ has shown volatility under new leader Christine Fréchette, with some surveys recording declines while others show rebound potential; the PLQ has posted modest gains in Montreal-area ridings; and the PCQ continues to post record support in parts of Quebec City. Upcoming debates and final-week campaigning could further separate these contenders before official results are certified.
