Recent July 2026 JOLTS data, showing 7.271 million job openings with little change from the revised June level and a 4.4% openings rate, anchors trader expectations for the August print due September 29. The stronger-than-expected August nonfarm payrolls gain of 162,000 and stable 4.1% unemployment rate point to labor market resilience that could support openings near 7.2–7.4 million, yet persistent moderation in hires, quits, and sectoral shifts create dispersion across bins. Market-implied odds remain tightly clustered because the data reflect a plateauing demand environment amid broader cooling signals, with revisions and seasonal factors adding uncertainty ahead of the release.

The resolution source for this market will be the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey report released for August 2026 (https://www.bls.gov/jlt/), currently scheduled to be released on September 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data.
Note: the resolution source for this market will be the official monthly JOLTS report, which reports job openings in thousands of openings.
