Linda Cardellini’s standout turn as the complicated suburban wife Carol in the critically praised HBO limited series “DTF St. Louis” has driven overwhelming trader consensus in this category. The dark comedy-crime miniseries earned 13 Emmy nominations overall, including multiple acting nods, and has drawn strong reviews for its blend of suburban malaise, infidelity, and murder mystery elements since its March premiere. Cardellini’s layered performance in a role blending vulnerability and moral ambiguity has positioned her as the clear frontrunner ahead of the September ceremony, outpacing competitors from “Beef,” “All Her Fault,” and “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.” Limited late momentum from other nominees or guild signals has kept the field from closing the gap.
