This market will resolve according to the official UFC Welterweight division champion on December 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. Only official UFC division champions will count. Interim champions will not count. If the relevant belt is vacant at this market’s check time, or there is otherwise no champion in the specified division, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the UFC (https://www.ufc.com/athletes).Islam Makhachev holds the UFC welterweight title after capturing it in November 2025 and successfully defending it via unanimous decision over Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 in August 2026, extending his unbeaten streak to 17 consecutive victories and breaking Anderson Silva’s record. Traders assign him dominant implied probability because of his elite wrestling and grappling pedigree, improved striking, and proven ability to control larger opponents at 170 pounds following his move up from lightweight. Recent form, including a dominant welterweight debut against Jack Della Maddalena, reinforces the market consensus despite a competitive title defense. Potential shifts could stem from injury setbacks, an upset loss to surging contenders such as Carlos Prates or Michael Morales, or any extended inactivity before year-end.
