Seasonal influenza activity remains minimal during the summer months, with CDC surveillance for Week 30 (ending August 1, 2026) reporting just 0.4% of respiratory specimens testing positive for influenza and only 0.1% of emergency department visits linked to flu diagnoses. This aligns with established epidemiological patterns driven by warmer temperatures, reduced indoor crowding, and lower viral transmission rates outside the typical October–May season. FluSurv-NET data from recent weeks show hospitalization rates at or below 0.1 per 100,000 population, continuing the sharp post-peak decline observed since early 2026. No unusual summer outbreaks, novel strains, or surveillance anomalies have emerged to alter this trajectory. Traders therefore assign high implied probability (86.5%) to a rate below 0.1 for Week 31, reflecting strong historical precedent and the latest official indicators of sustained low circulation ahead of the 2026–2027 season.

The resolution source for this market will be CDC FluView / FluSurv-NET (see: https://www.cdc.gov/fluview/index.html). If the FluSurv-NET hospitalization rate for the specified week is not released by 11:59 PM ET on the tenth calendar day following the date of the prior FluView weekly report release, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
CDC FluView reports the weekly FluSurv-NET hospitalization rate per 100,000 population to one decimal point (e.g., 0.1). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Note: Only the CDC FluSurv-NET weekly hospitalization rate per 100,000 population for the specified week will qualify, regardless of the cumulative influenza-associated hospitalization rate, estimates, projections, state-level reports, or other influenza surveillance metrics published by the CDC or other sources.
