Recent polling from July and August 2026 shows Marília Arraes (PDT) leading the Pernambuco Senate race for one of two seats, with a fragmented contest for second place among incumbent Humberto Costa (PT), Mendonça Filho (PL), Eduardo da Fonte (PP), and Túlio Gadêlha (PSD). Candidate registrations concluded in early August, formalizing a field of 12 contenders and highlighting coalition dynamics within the Popular Front and opposition blocs. Trader consensus for second place favors Costa at 57.5% amid this dispersion, reflecting his incumbency and party infrastructure, while lower probabilities for challengers underscore volatility. Late-campaign alliances, turnout among key voting blocs, or shifts in national polarization could separate contenders before the October 4 vote.
