Persistent southerly flow and a strong high-pressure ridge maintained elevated overnight minima across North Texas, with official Dallas/Fort Worth observations recording an 81°F low on September 16 amid mostly clear skies and light southeast winds. This aligned with National Weather Service guidance projecting upper-70s to low-80s lows given the warm boundary layer and lack of significant radiational cooling under the subtropical air mass. Historical climatology shows September lows averaging near 70°F, but the current +10–12°F departure from normal reinforced trader consensus around 82–83°F. Only an unexpected late-day frontal passage or measurement revision could have altered the outcome.
