Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Los Angeles on September 6 project a high near 81°F amid a 70% chance of showers and possible thunderstorms, driven by onshore flow and atmospheric instability that could enhance cloud cover and limit afternoon heating. This places the expected peak in the narrow 78–81°F range where market probabilities cluster most tightly. Model consensus and recent climatology—September averages near 76.5°F at LAX—support modest warming from early-month readings in the mid-70s, yet convective cooling and variable marine-layer influence introduce uncertainty about whether readings clear 80°F or remain suppressed. Updated model runs and official observations through the afternoon will determine final resolution.
