This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Helsinki Vantaa Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 30 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=efhk If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**The near-certain market consensus on 20°C as Helsinki’s daily maximum reflects direct observational data from authoritative Finnish sources, including the Finnish Meteorological Institute (Ilmatieteen laitos) and stations such as Helsinki Kaisaniemi and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, which recorded afternoon peaks of 19–20°C under mostly cloudy skies and moderate southwesterly winds.** Late-August climatology supports this outcome, with the 1991–2020 average high near 18.4°C; today’s mild conditions, dew points around 15–18°C, and limited solar heating from cloud cover kept temperatures from exceeding the observed maximum. Multiple forecast models converged on this narrow range hours before peak heating, and as the day progressed into evening (with temperatures falling to 17–18°C), the daily high became effectively locked in. Realistic challenges remain limited but include potential post-hoc adjustments to official station readings or resolution criteria tied to a specific monitoring site, though current model agreement and surface observations make significant revisions improbable.
