The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on August 30 emphasize a high in the lower 80s°F amid morning showers and scattered thunderstorms, with southwest winds of 10-15 mph and gusts to 30 mph limiting afternoon heating under mostly cloudy skies. Model consensus highlights this cooling effect from persistent cloud cover and precipitation, consistent with recent regional patterns of moderated temperatures despite seasonal norms near 84°F. The closely matched market-implied odds favoring 82-85°F bins reflect trader assessment of residual uncertainty in storm timing and intensity, which could allow brief warmer spells if convection clears earlier than projected. Resolution hinges on official daily maximum observations from stations like O'Hare or Midway.
