Daejon Labrayae Love has been federally charged in the District of Oregon with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud (see: https://www.justice.gov/usao-or/pr/man-posing-san-francisco-49er-charged-defrauding-over-two-dozen-women-out-more-13). This market will resolve to "Yes" if Daejon Love is convicted of at least one fraud or conspiracy to commit fraud charge by either June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET or, in the event of a mistrial, by the end of any retrial that begins before that date. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For purposes of this market, a fraud charge or conspiracy to commit fraud charge will encompass any named form of fraud. If this case ends due to a dismissal, or results in any situation in which no judgment is rendered by the court, or results in a verdict of Not Guilty for all relevant charges (including by reason of lack of criminal responsibility due to mental illness), this market will resolve to "No". A plea agreement will qualify to resolve this market "Yes" only if it results in a judgment of conviction for at least one of the relevant charges. If all relevant charges against Love are dropped, or otherwise changed such that they are no longer considered fraud or conspiracy to commit fraud, this market will immediately resolve to "No". A defendant will be considered convicted upon the court's acceptance of a guilty plea or the return of a guilty verdict, regardless of whether sentencing or formal entry of judgment occurs later. This market will resolve according to the initial judgment rendered in this case. Any appeals will have no bearing on the resolution of this market. The primary resolution source will be an official judgment delivered by the ruling court; however, other credible reporting may be used.**Federal charges against Daejon Love for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud were filed in Oregon in mid-August 2026, following his Aug. 24 arrest alongside accomplice Taylor Jamie Chan.** The 35-year-old Stockton native allegedly ran a multi-year romance scam posing as a San Francisco 49ers player and wealthy investor, extracting over $1.3 million from at least 26 victims across several states via dating apps and fake investment pitches. Prosecutors detailed fabricated bank statements, luxury car photos, and social media props in a 47-page complaint, with Love remaining in custody after an Idaho judge denied bail citing flight risk. With the market clock running to June 30, 2027, the near-even split around “No” at 53.5% reflects the tension between a strong evidentiary record—multiple victims, financial trails, and co-defendant statements—and the typical pace of federal proceedings. Arraignment, discovery, and potential motions practice could push a trial or plea into late 2027 or beyond, especially if Love contests the charges aggressively. Key near-term catalysts include Love’s transfer to Oregon, Chan’s Sept. 10 initial appearance, and any early plea discussions or scheduling orders that would clarify whether resolution fits inside the market window. Traders are weighing the high likelihood of eventual conviction against the real possibility of procedural delays in a case that only recently entered the system.
