This market will resolve to "Yes" if Israeli military personnel physically enter the municipality of Beirut in Lebanon for military purposes by the listed day 11:59 PM Israel Daylight Time. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, aerial and maritime operations will not be considered. Only operations involving troops on the ground within the municipality of Beirut will count. Undercover Israeli operatives and assets will not count. The primary resolution source for this market will be photo and video evidence; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. If the date/time of a qualifying entry cannot be confirmed by a consensus of credible reporting within 48 hours of this market's end date, it will resolve to "No" regardless of whether it was later confirmed to have taken place.Israeli forces remain focused on maintaining and expanding control within a southern Lebanon security zone under the US-mediated framework agreement, with phased withdrawals tied to Lebanese army deployment in pilot zones and Hezbollah disarmament. Recent developments include intensified Israeli airstrikes, artillery, and incursions in southern areas like Ansar, Deir al-Zahrani, and ridges such as Ali al-Taher, triggered by Hezbollah drone attacks that wounded Israeli troops, alongside UNIFIL reports of hundreds of projectiles and airspace violations in mid-August. Defense Minister Katz and Prime Minister Netanyahu have reiterated that troops will stay until threats are removed, while Rome talks continue with a September round planned; Hezbollah rejects the process as surrender. Past US pressure has constrained deeper operations toward Beirut, and no verified ground movements into the capital have occurred since earlier limited strikes on its southern outskirts.
