Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance for Houston on September 9 points to afternoon highs in the low 90s, with a 40-50% chance of thunderstorms developing after midday under increasing instability and Gulf moisture. This convective potential introduces uncertainty that could cap peak readings below recent mid-90s values seen September 7-8, aligning trader consensus with the 90-91°F bin as the mode. Seasonal climatology places the long-term average high near 90.5°F, and current steering patterns show no strong tropical or frontal influences to push extremes higher or deliver widespread cooling. Updated model runs and any shifts in storm timing will be key near-term catalysts for odds movement ahead of resolution.
