Darline Graham, appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to complete her late brother Lindsey Graham’s Senate term after his July 2026 death, advanced from the August 11 special Republican primary with roughly 33 percent of the vote against a crowded field and now faces Rep. Ralph Norman in the August 25 runoff for the GOP nomination. President Trump’s endorsement provides her a key boost in the short two-week campaign, while Norman draws on his congressional record and support from voters seeking an experienced alternative. Graham has emphasized her non-politician status and direct voter outreach, amid questions about her prior lack of elected office. The compressed timeline and split primary results leave room for shifts in turnout or endorsements to influence her final vote share.
