Recent high-resolution forecast models from agencies like AEMET and ECMWF indicate a continuation of stable high-pressure conditions over central Spain, with light southwesterly winds and minimal cloud cover supporting afternoon highs near 34–36°C in Madrid on September 8. This aligns with the market’s strong weighting toward 35°C (51.5%) and 36°C (37.5%), reflecting current warmth exceeding the 28–29°C seasonal average while falling short of peak summer extremes. Slight model spread around peak timing and boundary-layer mixing keeps 34°C and 37°C as secondary possibilities, though probabilities remain low absent a significant shift in steering patterns or moisture intrusion before resolution. Traders monitor the next 48-hour model updates for any adjustments to this consensus.
