Silver prices hover near $66 per ounce in early September 2026 after volatility that included August swings above $70 and a sharp correction from January peaks exceeding $120. Structural supply deficits projected at 46.3 million ounces for the year, marking the sixth consecutive shortfall, underpin support alongside industrial demand from solar, EVs, and AI infrastructure, though photovoltaic consumption has softened due to thrifting and prior front-loading in China. Monetary factors remain pivotal, with Fed policy expectations, Treasury yields, and the dollar influencing sentiment; dovish comments recently lifted prices while upcoming August NFP data and September FOMC deliberations introduce near-term volatility. The gold-silver ratio near 67 reflects these crosscurrents, as traders weigh persistent physical tightness against moderating industrial growth and rate-path uncertainty.

If the relevant Pyth data is unavailable due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption that prevents verification of the required 1-minute candle data, the official daily high/low price published for the relevant CME COMEX futures contract for the underlying metal—COMEX Silver Futures (SI)—may be used to determine whether the listed price was reached during the applicable trading session.
