The prolonged absence of any perfect game since Domingo Germán’s effort in June 2023 continues to anchor trader consensus at a 92.5% implied probability for “No” in the 2026 season. No perfectos or even no-hitters occurred in 2025, and none have materialized through mid-August 2026 despite roughly 2,000-plus regular-season contests completed. Modern roster construction—with strict pitch counts, quick hooks to bullpens, and matchup-driven usage—has sharply reduced complete games among starters, lowering the baseline odds well below the historical rate of roughly one every 20,000 attempts. Recent near-misses, such as Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s bid broken by an error, underscore how defensive support and workload management further constrain opportunities. The wisdom of crowds reflected in current pricing therefore treats the remainder of the schedule as unlikely to produce the rare combination of dominance and fortune required.

A “Perfect Game” is achieved when a pitcher throws a complete game without allowing a baserunner.
If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after November 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined if a Perfect Game occurred within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “No”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
