Stephen Bunting enters the New Zealand Darts Masters first round as the clear favorite against Raymond Smith due to his established PDC pedigree and recent World Series success. Ranked among the top 10 globally, Bunting secured multiple 2025 titles on the circuit and notched Premier League nightly wins in 2026, demonstrating consistent scoring and finishing under pressure. Smith, a returning Australian competitor with strong domestic results, faces a steep step up in class against elite opposition on this stage. Head-to-head dynamics and Bunting’s superior average and experience in high-stakes knockout formats underpin trader consensus around the 69% implied probability for the higher seed. No reported injuries or form slumps alter the baseline matchup.
