Recent polling shows a highly fragmented Australian electorate ahead of the 2028 federal election, with Labor’s primary vote in the high 20s to low 30s, One Nation often matching or exceeding the Coalition, and the Liberal-National opposition remaining weakened after its 2025 landslide defeat. This volatility—coupled with Anthony Albanese’s negative net approval, Angus Taylor’s leadership pressures, and Pauline Hanson’s elevated profile—keeps implied probabilities tightly clustered near 50 percent across multiple contenders. Traders appear to price in uncertainty over potential party leadership changes, crossbench influence, and possible minority government scenarios that could alter the path to the prime ministership before the next House dissolution.
